Another beautiful day in Paris. We caught the Metro into the 1st district, we then walked to the Louvre, where we spent about 3 hours walking around, we selected a few areas we really wanted to see (If you look at every single piece in the Louvre with no toilet or food breaks it will take you 64 days to see everything).
We saw the Greek, Roman and Egyptian sections, the Venus De Milo, Mona Lisa and many other less famous pieces of art.
We then had lunch at a little sandwich shop and headed toward the Eiffel Tower.
It took us heaps long to get there as we were walking and my foot was in agonizing pain most of the way there (I fell down a stairway before we left for the trip and fractured my toe). It was not too bad though because Paris has a lot of parks and resting chairs everywhere so we just took our time.
When we got there, we jumped in the queue and about 45-60 minutes later, we were on the elevator going up.
First we stopped on the 2nd floor and had a look around, had pictures of the city showing the distances of other tourist spots and other interests.
We then headed up to the 3rd floor and went outside, we had a walk around and once we done a full circle I sat on the step for the viewing tower is adjacent from the Louvre, as I was staring through the wires at the spectacular view, Jason knelt down with me, took my sunglasses off my face and pulled a box out of his pocket and said he had something to ask me, from there my memory is a little hazy, the tears started rolling and I distinctly remember saying yes. I was then speechless for a few minutes and then we carried on walking around, I thought we should probably look at everything again because I was sure Jason had been to preoccupied with his thoughts to have been paying any attention to the picture perfect views the city of love had to offer.
