Hello from Santa Barbara, California!Things in Cerritos finished up very nicely with a bit of time to visit with my friend Brendan, our pianist for the show in Alaska. The trip from Cerritos was only two hours, and the views were beautiful. We drove through some farmland and along the Pacific for much of the trip.We are staying at the Sandman Inn, which is a nice little motel with free breakfast and three pools.Unfortunately I haven't had much time to enjoy the sun as I'm finally in rehearsals.
I learned the last two numbers today, and officially know the whole show.Successfully performing the choreography, especially at tempo, hasn't really happened yet, but at least we're getting somewhere.I still have six hours of rehearsal tomorrow, a few hours on Friday and Saturday before I go into the show, so here's crossing my fingers. While it's exciting that the ensemble track that I have is nicely featured and in the front for many of the combos, it's stressful when you aren't really confident yet and can't cheat off of anyone.Ah well, trial by fire.
Tomorrow I have three hours by myself before my first rehearsal with the rest of the ensemble, so I'm hoping to be in good shape by the time everyone else arrives.I can't wait for turkey day and a moment to catch my breath.
