Greetings!
Well it's been a busy couple of weeks. Jefferson City turned out to be a wonderful stop. The people were wonderful and treated us like gold. We were thrown a luncheon by Central Bank based in Jeff City, where we were presented with a Proclamation from the Governor. The Capital City Players (a local dinner theater) were our sponsors/host for the week and threw us a party at their theater. We were made to feel very at home and welcome! Our hotel was not exactly ideal, but you can't have winners every time. Sadly, we lost our incredible sound guy, Lucas (we knew this was coming from the start, but we were all in denial...). But Kristen has now joined the team and she's one awesome girl. In honor of Lucas's last night, we went to Das Stein Haus...and Dancing. It was a German place right behind our hotel that looked like it had character...it was essentially a bar decorated to look German. And we hit it on KARAOKE night. We had a blast. And at the end of the night the waitress thanked us...normally those nights are painful for her. We managed to make it enjoyable. We have too much fun together!
Hartford, WI was next. What a wonderful week. First of all, perfect fall weather. Second of all, a Culvers across the street from our hotel with Pumpkin Custard Shakes. Little piece of Heaven. The theater was a great one...with some character. It was filled with crickets! We knew we couldn't have any pauses on stage because you would literally hear crickets...guess it's that season... We were also close to Milwaukee, Jessica's home town. The first night we went to dinner at her "second family"'s home (he's on the board of the Schauer Center where we performed) where we were treated to a home-cooked meal as well as ziplining and teatherball. The next night we went to Jessica's house where her mom made us fondue to die for. And later in the week I saw a Middlesex friend, Willie Dore, and met his awesome wife Kerry. Such a wonderful surprise...had no idea they were living out there. What a great night!
Then the weekend. I had a final callback for another show in NYC that I knew about since July. I've never called out of a show, so this was a big deal for me. I worked it out before rehearsals even started to come back for it and have our Swing go on (Yay Emily! I'm told she did one fantastic job!!). So I left the CBLers on Sunday morning (left at 4am...watched the sun rise at the airport) and rejoined them on Wednesday. Sadly, I didn't get the job. But I made sure to take advantage of being home and saw many of my most favorite NYC friends. Always makes me remember how much I miss being there...one of these days I'll actually live there again instead of visiting...
We're now in Dearborn, MI right outside Detroit. Here's hoping I remember the show after being away for several days...!!
Enjoy!
