Greetings!
Well, one week down. It's been an interesting start...
We were told not to jugde all of tour off of these frist few weeks. Namely, we've been playing a lot of schools. Elementary schools. The night we opened, our stage was a gym floor and our dressing room was the Special Ed classroom. We certainly felt special!! But so far everyone has been exceedingly nice to us and the show's been hugely successful. Packed houses and numerous standing ovations. We might be playing small towns, but these are the people that really get the humor. I'll take it!
Now, the bus...this is going to be something. So far we actually haven't been on it too much. Only a couple of over-nights...however the week after next EVERY night will be spent on the bus...we'll see how this goes... The bus is really cushy and our bus driver, Myles, is incredible. However...well, I'm not sleeping. OK, I don't really sleep (note that I'm updating this at 2AM and I'm in a hotel room tonight). But for some reason I get on this bus and I'm just wide awake. Which is odd, because normally I get on things that move and pass out (FOOTLOOSE and CHRISTMAS CAROL kids know what I'm talking about). But I've been finding myself sitting up with Myles (and Karen Pappas) on a lot of the over-nighters. Plus, my bunk is a top bunk. Which isn't terrible by itself. Except that it's a little claustophobic since the bus ceiling curves and, well, I have pretty much no side wall. Just a curved ceiling. I'm hoping that I just have to settle into a new routine. The bunk is starting to feel a little more like home. I'm even going out of my way to spend time in it when it's not night-time to make it feel like home-away-from-home. Pics will be going up tomorrow, and hopefully that'll help, too. It's going to be a VERY long 4 months otherwise...
Posted a whole bunch of pictures plus a new KP & KP... Enjoy!!
