This morning at 10am I met Jackie at a coffee shop near the Mita line ticket gates near Yurakucho station as we're going to see some sights of Tokyo together today.
The coffee shop I met her in just stank of smoke. Felt like I was almost walking into a big cloud of smoke. I'd forgotten how bad some coffee bars can be in Japan.
First of all I showed Jackie the Bic Camera shop. She was amazed how big it was and what you could actually buy.
Next we went to the Marunouchi Cafe to check our emails. It was just good to check out what was happening at home.
After checking our emails we went to the Imperial Palace Gardens. They just amazing with the cherry blossoms that were out. There were a lot of people out enjoying the spring weather and cherry blossoms. It was such a fantastic time to be in Japan.
We then headed back to Tokyo station to find somewhere to eat for lunch. There wasn't much around Tokyo station so we headed to the International Forum Plaza. We ended up having lunch at an Italian restaurant. I had a Japanese curry for lunch which I hadn't had in ages. It was really yummy.
After lunch Jackie and I went to the Japan Flower Design Show 2008. It was just truly amazing. There was a dress made out of leaves as one example. Another example was a hat made out of flowers. They were just stunning!!!
I was feeling exhausted after all the walking, so Jackie and I went our separate ways. She wanted to go on and do more sightseeing, but my legs had just had enough. I ended up going to meet a friend, Masako Shimada for coffee. We met back at Yurakucho station. I wasn't that familiar with the area, so Masako suggested we go into Tokyu Department store to a cafe there. It was great to see her again. Don't think we'd seen each other in about 10 years.
After having coffee with Masako I went back home to my host family's place. When I got off the bus I got a bit lost as the bus stopped at a different place to the first time I got off the bus. I rang Okaasan and she told me where to go. It was great to get home.
Soon after I got home I had some dinner. Then, I rang a few friends to see if I could catch up. One of my closest friends that I went to school with, Yumi rang up. We arranged to catch up Monday. Can't wait to see her. It's about 10 years since I saw her last. We were really close friends at school.
