Hello there readers,
As you may have surmised from the photo I am once again living in the wondrous Discovery lodge though I now hold the glamorous and most desirable post of cleaner. After only one day of work I already miss working down in the kitchen! And that's saying something because that was hardly the best job either, I miss the sociable atmosphere more than anything, the housekeeping crew take everything way too seriously, I'm not sure I can cope with living in the same room as them for a month! Interestingly I'm now in a different room, directly above the room in the picture and it is marginally sweeter smelling than the other one if not any tidier. It does feel more cramped though because the bathroom is inside the room rather than outside the door, I'm not yet sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
This new job is going to force me to get up early as well, I have to start at like 10am, that's practically dawn compared to my usual Queenstown schedule! It does mean that I have a lot of the day free, but again I'm not sure if this is strictly a good thing. Oh well it might not be a great job but it pays the bills (sort of). It also means that all I have to do is go downstairs and I'm in a bar and it's no more than 10 minute's walk from any of the other bars in town (I'd like to note here that I like this close proximity to bars so that I can socialise, it is not a subtle hint to the readers that I am an alcoholic!).
On a positive, non-work subject I have made a number of new friends in the 10 days I've been back here as well as met up with a lot of old ones, it's now got to the point where I seem to know everyone, I pretty much walk into any bar and I'll know some of the staff and at least one of the people drinking there, it's so much fun, you can never go out alone in this town. Well if you do go out alone it doesn't stay that way for long.
I think I will now go and get to know my new room mates and then I might read or possibly play some pool, god my life is full of difficult decisions!
On a completely unrelated subject there is a very cute labrador puppy sat in front of me, it's so sweet!
Thanks for tuning in,
cleaner extraordinaire
