Well hello there readers,

Before I begin I will inform you that I have had a total of 5 hours of sleep in the last two days, so I apologise in advance for any spelling mistakes that may appear due to said total lack of sleep!

As the title of this entry has no doubt already informed you, I am in Queenstown right now, otherwise known as the party and extreme sports capital of New Zealand, a reputation that it thoroughly lives up to (hence very few hours of sleep). The weather has decidedly perked up and is in fact quite hot in the day, but still a bit cold at night. I spent a short while yesterday sunbathing on grass near the banks of a lake that I can't remember the name of (there are a lot of lakes and mountains, after a while they all merge into one!) and also ate a fergburger. I will now take a moment or two to educate you about fergburger. It's a tiny burger shop along Shotover Street (the main street) that does the best burgers in the world, and I really do mean the best burgers in the world, firstly they are massive and you can really tell that the ingredients are absolutely fresh. I had a burger, without chips, at 3pm yesterday and was still full when I went to bed at 1am!

One interesting fact that you may like to know is that on my way down here I crossed the 45th parallel, the point exactly half way between the equator and the south pole. Apparently there are only three places in the world where you can actually cross the 45th parallel so I feel this is a pretty cool thing to have done, it also now means that I'm closer to Antarctica than to the equator, thankfully the temperature doesn't reflect this!

Not much else has happened since I last wrote except long hours on a bus and a fair amount of partying that I won't go into detail about! I've just said goodbye to yet another bus load of friends as they moved on this morning after their two nights in Queenstown and I'm staying on here for a while. I've done this many times now, but it doesn't get any easier. Also had to say goodbye to Catwalk the driver, probably my favourite one so far, as I will be joining another bus soon with another, probably bizarrely named, driver. Incidentally, I did find out that Catwalk got his nickname from the fact that he will dance to the song 'I'm too sexy' any time it comes on! Spanky is still a mystery.

Well I think that's it for now so I'll be going, I have to attempt to book myself on a bus out of here.
