Hi there readers,

Just a quick update to let you all know what is going on in the exciting world of me. I've put into motion the perfect plan to kill time without getting bored and at the same time save a large sum of money. Yesterday I started working in the kitchen of the hostel, I'll work for 3 and a half days a week (it opens at 4 and closes at 8) and get my weeks accommodation for free. As I'm now staying in Queenstown for just over 3 weeks I should be able to get back onto the stray bus at the beginning of next month, finish the rest of the trip and still get into Christchurch with two days to spare, so yay for this plan. It also means that from this point I will only have to pay about another $44 on accommodation which means I'm saving about $600! I'm so happy about this that I could do a little dance in the internet cafe! I'm not going to though.

This does also mean that I can now comfortably go and buy more clothes to replace those that are looking a little shabby and a reasonably sized bottle of shower gel because I know I don't have to leave within the next few days and have to carry it around!

I actually phoned the guy offering the job yesterday lunchtime and started working at 4pm, it was manic, but I'm told that last night was strangely busy so hopefully it won't always be that bad! The job basically involves reheating meal portions that have been cooked the morning before and as a result of the mentioned manicness I now know how to cook nearly everything on the menu, not that I really need to as there is a detailed list on the wall of exactly how everything has to be reheated. I also have to do the washing up and serve the food. My basic equipment includes two microwaves, a mini-grill and a deep-fat fryer (which I fear will burn me any day now). The job's not really too hard or complicated so I don't mind doing it, it also means I have my days free.

So that is the story of my plan, turned out a tad longer than I anticipated but I feel it is the height of interestingness.
