Hello finally,

And so the story moves from queenstown to Queensland! I must first apologise (especially to the amazing Catherino) for the total lack of any updates for quite some time. The reason for this has been that although I was busy it was working and not doing anything all that interesting and I felt that the faithful readers would rather not hear my toilet cleaning stories!

As you may or may not know I've now met up with the parents once again (there was a tearful reunion at the airport) and it is very nice to have someone else pay for things and not have to sleep in a bunk bed!

The major events that have taken place in my life since I last wrote are as follows. Firstly I arrived in Melbourne a few days before Mum and Dad and basically spent the time waiting for them to arrive. Once they did finally get there we went into the city and saw a few of the sights, including the aquarium which I particularly enjoyed. We also did a trip along the Great Ocean Road where I saw my first Koala in a tree (and one on a signpost actually). We stayed the night in Apollo Bay and then headed back to Melbourne before hiring a car and driving out to the snowy mountains. These mountains showed no trace of snow, just a lot of dry grass and a variety of roadkill. There was a moment of excitment when Dad claimed to have spotted a kangaroo, we turned the car around and drove back to see a clearly deceased marsupial in the middle of a field with its legs in the air. I have yet to see a living kangaroo!

We stopped one night in an amusing motel in the middle of nowhere on this trip and, the next day, arrived once again in Canberra. The only new thing to report about Canberra is that we visited the Pancake Parlour which has a menu entirely of pancakes! The next location was Sydney, but only briefly so I won't bore you.

We're now in the Whitsundays where it is baking but also very humid (and currently pouring with rain). We have a few days here and I will endeavour to write another thrilling instalment in this time. I must go now because this has taken ages and I have other things to do!
