Kate's Chronicles
Well its been so long since I wrote anything that i've been getting emails checking my "live" status!! Just letting you all know that I am alive and well....
Nanjing is living up to its reputation as one of the "furnaces" of China and we are getting 30+ degrees everyday now....too hot for exploring even if I had the time!!
Been busy with both my jobs and also took on the task of judging the CCTV Outlook English Talent Competition for the Jiangsu Province. I was the " distinguished foreign expert professor"...such a fancy title accompanied by very hard work. Judging 250+ students per day from grade 1 through to University level students. I loved watching the little ones and was astounded by their command of English but it confirmed for me that it is certainly not the area I should teach in.....OMG what to do with such tint tots ALL day!!!!
Had the pleasure of going out for dinner with my friend Christy and her family when they were visiting from the States. Of course the bad news (for me) is that Christy is leaving at the end of semester and moving to Shanghai....the joys of TESOL life and friendships. Oh well I have an open invite to visit in Shanghai so I guess I'll be exploring a bit more of the middle kingdom....
Its "that" time of year for my students....end of year exams and they are certainly feeling the pressure. Sometimes I'm not sure if I am a teacher or counsellor!! It has certainly been a hectic time for me with teaching load as well as setting exams and preparing to grade all my students. Only 2 weeks left and then its summer holidays for me.....
Well actually it won't be summer for me as I am heading back to Australia and it will be winter!!! How dumb am I you say??? Well as much as I hate the cold, rainy weather it is time to visit all my wonderful family and friends
Hope to squeeze in another trip away before I head back to Aus.....itchy feet etc etc...so I will keep you posted.
Bye for now. xx

Di Great to hear that you are keeping busy. I have a Melbourne weekend booked for us when you return. A catch up with Andrew will be good too.
