We had our first experience of an Indian over night train, 13 hours. Wow. We had fold down beds, 3 high in our sleeper carriage, it was fine once we survived the bundle of people desperate to get on the trains which wasn't easy when you're carrying 18k of crap on your back! Ranakpur was such a different place to be! It wa sout in the country side in the middle of nowhere. After all the crazy traffic and people hassling you to buy things it was such a privelage to be in a quiet, almost silent part of the country. We wer even warned about Leopards!! Following an 8 hour rickety coach ride which smelt bad and had people sleeping in what would be the luggage compartments on english coaches above our heads we made it to Udaipur. The hotel was really nice. This city is famous for its minature paintings, tiny amazing detail. Yesterday I survived the 3 hour bus ride from hell. The most rickety, bumpy bus i have ever experienced! sick-free tho so that is always a bonus. Travellingby bus is really good because you get to go through all the small little villages that you would never get to see. I've seen the smallest housing, some incredibly poor areas but everyone seems so happy still. And the amount of groups of boys that we pass who are intensley playing cricket is unreal! I still fe...
