Sunday 10th December We left our huge backpackers at the hostel and got the 9.18 train from Sydney to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. It took about 2 hours. Friday 8th December Had a productive morning sorting out our plans such as finding out about ways to get around New Zealand and booking our bus and sorting out a train to the Blue Mountains. Monday 4th DecemberWe left Byron Bay around 11am and set off for Coffs Harbour. On the way we stopped at the serives in Ballina where there is the "Big Prawn" - was pretty impressive! All over Australia there are various "giant" things to see, mostly animals but Coffs is famous for having the "Big Banana" so we had to make sure we'd visit it while we were there! Thursday 30th November Got up after only a few hours sleep as we had to get the bus down to Byron. Coincidently our Irish drinking pals were on the same bus. Luckily we weren't in the same hostel, haha! There's a change of time zones on the East Coast which was a bit weird considering you're normally on a plane when the time changes.
