Monday Finally a rainy day...the whole trip we had sunshine and good company! Sunshine on our shoulders Sunday We are still in Lehinch, today we caught the ferry to Innis Soirre, one of the Aran Islands. We toured the island on a horse drawn cart, then had "toasties" for lunch at a pub, those are toasted sandwiches filled with whatever you pick ( usually ham and cheese). Then we caught the ferry and went to the Cliffs of Moher, one if those most photographed natural wonders in the world. Then we stopped in Doolin, did some shopping.....

Saturday We are heading toward Lehinch, Tony, our driver, says its a big surf town and we have decided to take lessons! Not many people can say they learned to surf in Ireland...no really, we arrived at our B & B and everyone did there own thing. Friday Drove to Killarney today, toured a Tower Castle ruin...name to follow. Then viewed more fantastic scenery, stopped for lunch at The South Pole pub, founded by a great Irish explorer named Tom Creen. He accompanied Shackleton amongst others. Learned a few things lately: 1. The Irish have great music and they are very social. 2. To go to college you have to score high on standard tests and be able to pay for college. There are no student loans here....

Thursday Another sunny day, we hit the road about 10am and drove some of the Slea Head road. It is a road that goes along the coast with spectacular views. We went to a beach, a museum about the Blasket Islands, a pier where you can take a ferry to the Big Blasket island, Gallarus Oratory then back to home at the Lantern House Bed and Breakfast. Tonight we have the Dingle librarian coming to talk to us about the history of the area, then off to a jam session ...
