Happiness Is The Road
After brekky we hit the highway in the direction of Esperance, a place I was last at back in November. It was a journey of just under 400 kilometres and probably the last really long drive that we will do in Australia. The road away from Wave Rock was very quiet and it took us through farming country. The road headed south until we reached Highway 1 just outside Ravensthorpe. From here I was back on familiar territory. We had lunch at a rest stop and followed Highway 1 into Esperance. It was good to be back here as it is a really lovely place. The plan is to stop here for a few days before heading east towards Cape Le Grand National Park and then coming back west and slowly working our way round the coast and back to Perth. It is going to be great to show Jay the south west as it is I believe the best part of Australia. The coastline from here to Perth is full of rugged and dramatic beauty. We checked into the Esperance Seafront Caravan Park which was a lot quieter than when I last stayed here. We got a lovely quiet spot and chilled out for the rest of the day.
