Costa Rica Day 7 Recollection
Today was one of the most testy days on the trip. It all started with Scrambled eggs with sausage, toast, and tamarin juice which was gobbled down very quickly by all of us. We then loaded the bus and headed to the orphanage which took 15 minutes. Once there, we went back to the house we did not finish which was all fine and dandy until we were told we only had half of a large pail which meant we had to be really conservative of the paint we used. So we are about an hour or so into painting and our paint level is fine and then it drops substantially because people were using too much paint! We were fine until we had the backside of the house to go and we had almost zero paint and we are all panicking because we don't want to go back to the house again on Monday. So we got some more paint and we are told it's time for lunch which helped because it took our minds off things. After lunch we headed back and finished the wall but, one of the group members used another shade of orange from another house and it looked totally different so we had to finish that off real quick and we were done!! Woohoo!! Frustration in our minds was officially gone because we started playing with 3 Latino girls named Melissa (Mee-Lissa), Melony, and Charlotte and a boy who said his name was George but his name was actually Jorge. We all gathered in a circle and played ball and Melissa would bump the ball upward with her fist and laugh at us when we had to chase for it which was a lot of fun. Eventually Jorgen, Carson and Jerome Boateng aka Alex??? came and played also and then we started playing soccer and I would commentate calling Jorgen "Ronaldo", Alex "Jerome Boateng" and Carson I also called Jerome Boateng but then it confused us so I called them the Boateng brothers and they were laughing and giving me double high fives and fist bumps. I even taught them how to do the airplane celebration and the rowboat celebration which was awesome because they loved every second of it. We then went down to the soccer field and played with boys my age. We were getting messed up because the one kid could do freestyle tricks with the ball he even nutmeged me twice which was utterly embarrassing
