Lastnight was so cold it hurt - I literally could not get warm even with thick jeans, socks, 3 shirts, jumper, jacket, scarf, beanie and 3 rugs. To go with that where I am staying they are constantly in and out at very late hours - the previous night I was woken up at 2am because they needed the Quilt from my bed and so I had a very uneasy night. In the morning Ronnie came in with another Couchsurfer from Brazil. The sun is out today so I headed for the Main Square - Plaza de Armas to catch some sun. In the square there was a parade going on which was really nice, lots of people about dancing, smiling and a really nice vibe. I went for one last walk through the market and brought some supplies for the next few days on the bus. I cooked a big omelette for lunch - just incase the next 48 hours on the bus doesn't provide much of a square meal. At 4pm I went and thanked Ronnie for his hospitality and promised to spread the word about his new hostel and tours. I walked to the station about 3km south-east of the city and by the time I arrived it was time to board the bus. I am actually quiet looking forward to this bus ride as I have paid a couple of extra dollars for a more luxurious bus which includes reclining seats, all meals and refreshments, tv etc. I must say the bus is only a little better then the economical buses and although the seats recline all the way back it was impossible to sleep or stay flat in them as the road was so rugged and with many hairpin corners. Dinner came super early and surprise surprise rice with a few tiny pieces of vegetables, ham and chicken - I did my best in the dark to pick out the chicken and the ham. For dessert a little jelly in a cup and a healthy coca cola to wash it all down. So after dinner being a disappointment they did out on two great films with English subtitles the first being Step Up Revolution and the second my favorite film John Carter. Unfortunately because of the state of the road I really struggled to get any sleep even with the more luxurious and reclining seats.
