Slipping Back!! Unfortunately I didn't sleep so well lastnight and I was up super early so I did my best to do some meditation before starting the day! I joined Erick and his roommate for a typical Mexican breakfast of scrambled eggs, tomato and chilli - it was super got but delicious. Tonight there is another Couchsurfer coming to stay so I have organized to prepare dinner for all of us. Around midday I headed to the market and picked up some bits and pieces for dinner aswell as grabbing some lunch: BBQ chicken cooked over hot coals. For $2.50 you get half a cooked chicken, beans, rice, salsa and tortillas and yes this was a ginormous feed and I suffered for the rest of the day because of it. In the afternoon I met with another Couchsurfer: Rosana and had a walk around the city and tried to book out day trip to Palenque. Unfortunately there is a teacher strike on at the moment and the road to Palenque is blocked and so we can't do tour tommorow and will have to wait and hope that we can do on Friday instead. We then visited the beautiful Guatulupe church at the top of the hill and checked out all the cool organic shops that paved the street leading up to the church. The other Couchsurfer didn't arrive (because if teacher strikes) so we put off the dinner until tomorrow night which is no problem and probably better as I was still incredibly full from dinner.
