Mole Time! It's hard getting back into this travelling lifestyle having been in one place for the last month: routine and familiarity sure makes life easier and stress free. From sleeping to eating and daily classes to hobbies all these things certainly keep one balanced but unfortunately lacking excitement in a lot of ways. I have found myself stressing about the smallest things the last few days and this mornings meditation was a bit of a disaster in that I couldn't keep my mind from wondering. I was up quiet early and tried this fermented corn stuff known as Pozol which is mixed in water to make a thick corn drink- it turned out really and I will certainly going back to buy some other types; one of which is with chocolate. In the morning I went back to the market in the hope to buy some new clothes but didn't really find anything so I continued through the fruit and vegetable market picking up a few bits and pieces. I had organized to meet Erick and his housemate at the sweets market at 2pm so we could try the famous Mexican dish: Mole. Usually chicken or pork in a spicy, chocolate salsa - I know sounds ridiculously good right?? We went to this nice little place called Gloria's and for about $3 I got served up their speciality; Chicken Mole and salad. Everything in Mexico apparently get served with corn tortillas and salsa and the tortillas were a perfect accompaniment to the dish. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the mole sause was very thick with a hint of chocolate and very subtle spice: in total 50 ingredients are used to make this special sause. The meal was to die for and made me glad I am not going down the vegan road just yet. My stomach isn't handling the return to meat so well but the body needs it so I will push on through. After lunch the guys had to go back to work so I decided to go check out the cacao museum; which in the end didn't look so good so I gave it a miss. Without much else to do I headed back to the municipal market and brought some food for dinner and then headed back to the house to relax the rest of the afternoon. In the evening I had organized to meet another Couchsurfer by the name of Rossana (from Guatemala) but unfortunately it bucketed down with rain all afternoon so we didn't get a chance to meet.
