Sunday Brunch!! Today there was a big bunch of Ena's family coming around for Sunday brunch. Ena's Mum was up at 6am preparing an absolute feast which included tamales, omelettes, bean soups, chicharon, salsas, sweet breads, tortillas, biscuits, quesadillas, hot cakes and maple syrup, fruits, vegetable juices, fruit juices, coffee, atole - and I am sure I am forgetting a few things. It turned into a late brunch but well worth the wait. My stomach still wasn't feeling the best but with a feast like this in front of me I couldn't say no and went to town. After brunch I went for a walk around the neighborhood and to a huge Sunday market that stretched about 2 km along one of the main streets in Ena's neighborhood. The market was incredible with food stalls, fruits, vegetables, grains, clothes, utensils and everything else you could possibly think of. Although I was still stuffed from brunch I did my best to sample some new things I had yet to try and luckily escaped the market without spending too much money. I spent the rest of the afternoon wondering around, people watching and enjoying the short spurts of sunshine that peered through the grey clouds. In the afternoon i had an early dinner with Ena's Grandma and Mum and Dad and tried some delicious Mexican style guacamole. The evening I hung-out with Ena's brother and family whilst we waited for Ena to return from her weekend away.
