Today was my last day at Erika's so I got up early and said my goodbyes to the family. I was to meet Vivi my new host at the bus station at 12pm but unfortunately she got caught up at her job interview and by 1:30pm I was worried and running around trying to ask people to borrow their phones, unfortunately no one could understand me and thus I couldn't borrow a phone. After more waiting an transmilenio employee came up to me and asked if I was ok - on my iPhone I wrote could I please borrow your phone and all was good. I got hold of Vivi made sure she was still coming and then waited till just after 2pm. From the station we made our way out to Vivi's, stopping at a huge fruit and veg store and the supermarket. By the time we reached Vivi's house we were both exhausted but tonight her parents were coming to stay and Vivi would be cooking to celebrate Mothers Day and her Fathers Birthday! I met Vivi's Aunt who was a lovely old lady but didn't speak any English. Vivi cooked up some chicken breast in the oven, made a couscous salad and a blueberry sauce for the chicken - I made my own version of guacamole with carrots, avocado, tomato, Raisens, spinach and red onion. Vivi's parents arrived and her Mum made some traditional plantain dish (gigantic fried banana), it was nearlly 10pm before we ate but we had loads of fun cooking and made an absolute mess of the kitchen. Vivi's parents couldn't speak any English but we did our best to communicate and had lots of laughs. The food was amazing and the company wonderful - I am now starting to feel Colombian hospitality.
