My flight to Miami was long and uncomfortable but by 8am we had arrived. I grabbed some breakfast, surfed the net and waited a few hours for my next flight to Bogota. The second flight was much better and I managed to get a little sleep. I arrived to cloudy Bogota, changed some money - and asked for my number by the first Colombian girl I talked too at the money exchange - I am going to like this country. I then spent the next two hours running around trying to get a refund for my return plane ticket that Spirit Airlines made me book. After a huge stuff around I got sorted and went out to meet Erika - my Bogota CS host. We chatted a bit then made our way to Erika's house. I met her lovely family and then was taken down to her Mothers resteraunt and given my first Colombian meal: vegetable soup, Beetroot salad, vegetable and egg salad, bean salad and BBQ chicken and some strange lemon drink. Thankfully I was hungry it was a big meal and very filling, we went back to the house and I chatted with Erika's Dad in his limited English. I tried Colombian coffee, aguardiente (local aniseed liquor) which was delicious and talked about Bogota. We then went to the supermarket had a look around, brought a few things then headed back to the house in the hopes to get an early night sleep.
