Leisurely start after yet another massive breakfast of porridge with bananas and honey followed by fried potatoes, sausage and boiled egg with toast washed down with Tea and coffee and fruit juice ........ Needless to say our waistlines are ever increasing !
We set off at about 0900 and walked back up the valley and across the bridge back towards Majgaun. There is a very steep short trek up which the locals use or a longer one which we took which wound around the hill more. The walk consisted of lots of steps up up up for what felt like forever ..... The views of Annapurna South were amazing and the countryside is so very different with paddy fields and small farms dotted along the way. We met no other Trekkers but a few locals along the way.
It is much warmer here and for the first time we both feel a bit of a sweat as we climbed the hills and definitely needed more water.
No need for anything other than teeshirts and light trousers to walk in clothes wise.
We arrived at our Ker and Downey luxury gurung lodge in Majgaun at lunchtime. The lodge is absolutely stunning and our room has the most amazing views of Annapurna South imaginable with lovely loungers we could pull out and sit watching the beautiful landscape surrounding us. The garden is so colourful full of marigolds and poinsettias.
After another mammoth lunch of fried rice and vegetables we spent the afternoon relaxing reading and enjoying the views.
Lovely evening chatting about life in general in particular shift work in and out of war and our lovely families. Dinner of soup followed by chicken vegetables and mashed potato and fruit salad.
Came back to our rooms where our beds all made up and little hot water bottles in situ in case we get cold! In twin rooms again tonight so quite nice x
