Terrible night sleep as June developed a full blown head cold and spent all night congested coughing and sneezing tossing and turning ..... Keeping Nigel awake too!
Nice breakfast with the rest of the KE adventure crew before they headed back down to Lukla and we headed up on the long climb to Namche Bazaar.
We entered the national park and initally we walked beside the river bed before crossing 2 increasingly higher suspension bridges ! Juney still a bit nervous but did it none the less.
Once over the highest bridge the long ascent began towards Namche..... The route seemed quieter today with less mules and Trekkers ? Why ....presume just a quieter season !
Half way up Lapa pointed out our first view point of Everest ..... It was the highlight of our day. The weather was perfect and it looked wonderfully magestic in the background ..... Needless to say we spent some time enjoying the scenery and taking photos before heading on onwards and upwards.
We climbed approx 600 Metres overall today before ending up in Namche Bazaar ..... A thriving Sherpa town selling everything imaginable . We have been led to believe this is one of the richest townships in Nepal. We drank some coffee before heading up to the yeti mountain lodge we are staying at tonight ..... A bit out of town but wondeful views ! We had a great homemade pizza then headed back into town and did a bit of shopping and got some money out. The town itself is 3400metres and most people are required to stay here 2 nights to acclimatise before heading any further up in altitude so it is quite a busy place full of Trekkers and climbers ..... But again due to the earthquake bookings are significantly down and it appears quite quiet.
Rest of the day spent chilling in lodge.
