"This is the best bolognese ive ever had" - Phil 26 July 2012
Josh - "Have you ever considered that you might be an alcoholic"
Dan - "I think I am on paper"
So where did we leave the last blog? That's right, Dan s***ting in a field!! His stomach didn't get much better so he made the most of every single stop that we had at petrol stations/restaurants.....he even had two at one station!!
When we arrived in Phnom Penh, we checked in to our hotel and made sure everyone understood the rules (see picture above).
We then headed for dinner at Friends, a creative tapas restaurant run by trained former street kids. The food was incredible and anyone popping to Phnom Penh in the next few weeks should definitely give it a go.
After dinner we had an early night as we had a busy morning the next day, visiting the Killing Fields and S21 (a converted school used as a prison and for torturing in the 1970s).
After our morning out, which was both interesting and quite depressing, we had a relaxing afternoon playing cards and chilling out.
That evening, after dinner, we headed to a street that we were recommended for drinking. The first bar we went in turned out to be a 'LadyBar'. It wasn't the most relaxed I've ever seen Dan as I think he was expecting them all to pounce on him from the moment we arrived.
After trying to find another bar without the added extras (and failing), we followed some westerners to a Reggae Bar and played some drinking games. We then moved on to a club, Pontoon, before heading back to Riverside for food and drinks at 3am! Most of us went for an appetiser (for example, spring rolls) but Phil went for TWO bowls of spaghetti bolognese!!!!!
After a leisurely morning, we are now on our way to Takeo.
