JOSEPH- So mrs. michaela fredrika christina moden (all male names turned female) has been a bit lazy on the blogging! but we finally mustered (ketchuped) the energy to keep everyone updated! I dare to say being here has burnt more energy than backpacking itself! The usual day here at North Koster, begins with a late brunch of 12:30 ish! Afterwards, we go to some ice beach and pretend to be penguins (it was actually ok the first few days but lately the water not the weather got colder). We come back for lunch and than hike a little. Then we eat a delicious meal made by mormor (grandmother) (translates to moms mom) and watch a movie. In this blog entry we shall tell you some of the higlights of the past few days. One of my most proud accomplishments is that I carried a giant pole (giant as in bigger than a lamppole) at least 2 miles back to the house. With this giant pole we made a flag any swede would be proud of! (pictures will be sent as soon as i get home). Today was espicially interesting, mormor and morfor took us on a hike to find a special kind of moss. This moss is extremely rare, and actually glows lime green. It was an amazing sight, and caused a new found curiousity for discovery.
MICKEY - So our days here have been very realxing and enjoyable :) I´ve been taking Joseph to different beaches and swimming rocks around the island. A new place to swim every day. :) We´ve been to a really nice beach called the "bears bed" beacuse its a little cove thing, also to my favorite jumpy rock way out on the cliffs where Joseph jumped once then went to dethaw on the rocks. I admit the water has been a litle chilly but you get used to it once you stay in for a while (which I can never get the Mexican to do). ;) Hmmm... besides eating and swimming and hiking on the rocks we have not done much. We did set up our volley ball net and have some intense games! The playing area was actually very legit, we stretched an extension cord all the way around the court (grass) and suspended the four corners with sticks. (Brilliance! And all my grandpa´s and my idea, no Joseph!) ;) Our hike to the moss was fun and especially exciting when we had to crawl into the tiny cave to get closer to the moss. It´s the little wonders that make this island so amazing :)
We are both extremely hungry and our dinner (reindeer meat) is finally done! So we bid you goodbye and apologize that our blogs are not as exciting as they used to be. But we are definitely having a great and relaxing time :) (for now... my mom and sister come tomorrow... then my dad on Sunday and my brother on Monday...) YAY. ;)
OH, and my grandparents send out a hello to all other grandparents reading this!

Daddy T eating Rudolph!?!?!?! What! Those crazy Vikings have no sense of staying off Santa's Naughty List. You will all be without presents. So it sounds like the island have you in its grip and you are slowly turning in to islanders. Eating and easy strolls around the small island and quick swims in the crisp waters. Sounds nice. I will leave Dallas on Saturday. Looking forward seeing you soon.
Daddy T You haven't mentioned all the Norwegians normally overwhelming the island... They are still there? By the way: Do you know what the difference is between Norwegians and mosquitos? Mosquitos are only annoying during the summer.... He he he
Daddy T Now I got myself going... Q: Why did the Norwegian bring a rolled-up piece of sandpaper to the desert? A: Thought it was a map. Q: How do you sink a Norwegian submarine? A: Scuba-dive down and knock on the door. Q: How do you sink a Norwegian submarine again? A: Dive down and knock on the door again. Wait for them to open the window and say, “You aren’t fooling us this time!” Q: How do you sink a Danish submarine? A: Dive down and knock on the window. Wait for them to open the door and say, “Come on, who do you take us for? Norwegians?” Q: How do you sink a Swedish submarine? A: Give it a Norwegian crew. Q: How do you say “genius” in Norway? A: Tourist.
