Joseph- Yesterday afternoon was rough to say the least. I got a fever, sore throat, and chills. My theory is that the god Dionysus, god of wine and drunken revelry, punished me for getting drunk and forgetting (honestly we did) to pay for it (captain Ben adventure). It started in the morning after switching hotels (maybe the lady cursed me!) and got worse as the day went on. Towards sundown I couldn't get out of bed, I was extremely hot yet I couldn't bear to get out of the thick comforter. Luckily, my awesome travel partner took care of me! she kept water by my bedside, and tended to my every need. She even took 3 trips to the store/pharmacy! I was extremely grateful she was there to help :). Even with my sickness, we had a ton of fun playing cards and reading articles on my favorite website, cracked.com. Today I felt so much better, by the time I woke up my fever was to a minimum and I woke up Mickey (mistake) to share the good news. And today we had maybe the second best day since we got here. We rented an atv 4 wheeler, only 15 euros, for the entire day. We saw all the villages, and spent most our afternoon in Hilikus. Hilikus is the definition of serene, with a ghost section of the town and one restaurant. We took many gorgeous pictures that we will send to you once we get a computer :). We ate lunch/dinner at the restaurant and the food/scenery was superb. The restaurant was located in the middle of the town, and had only dishes made from local products. All the seats are located outside and underneath incredible vines of grapes. Mickey just decided she wants to blog today so on to her!
Mickey- Hahahhaa okay so Jospeh means Halki, not Hilikus... I dont even know where he got that name from. :) Anyway, so on our way out of the main port area and down the coast on our four-wheeler we found a whole row of amazing beaches lining the road. We stopped at a few and took some pictures and stuck our feet in the water, but we finally chose one to stay at. It was absolutely stunning with clear, teal water and cool rock formations further out and soft sand! (Oh, and a couple of completely naked old ladies...) We swam and played paddle ball until Joseph viciously (and accidentally) destroyed his paddle. After that incident we continued on our journey and decided to follow the signs to Hora (not knowing where that was) because the roads winded upwards and I wanted to explore the mountainous regions of Paros. We had tons of fun taking turns driving and enjoying the amazing scenery as the coast and port town disappeared and were replaced by mountains and beautiful farms (Joseph and I decided to honk at every cow we passed). When we ended up in Halki I was happily surprised to find it was the same town I had read about in my Greece book and had wanted to visit. Unfortunately, we came at a "siesta time" when everything was closed and we couldn't try the "kitron" - a unique liquor made from some barely edible fruit. :( We're hoping to find some in the town tonight, however! The little town was still great though, there were old villas and flowers everywhere and we found a peach tree that we picked from and ate (very yummy peaches!). Still hoping to find an olive tree though... I love olives :P
p.s. - We really appreciate you guys checking the blogs it makes us feel loved and supported! :) Sorry for the shortage of photos, to upload them we have to take them with my iPhone, and we're taking all the photos with the real camera. We're going to try to take more with my phone, though!

Amanda I am so glad that you are feeling better! I know it is very hard to feel bad and not be able to be in your own bed. The next day sounds amazing. you are sure taking advantage of all that can be done! I can only imagine what all that looks like. You guys do a great job writting and making us feel like we are almost there. i hope you keep feeling better. What is next? When do you go to Italy? Love mom
JAP This is such a treat, reading about your adventures---the more specific and personal, the better. For example, J's wish to pocket the little old man at your first hotel in Athens, or the admission that Dionysus took his revenge with J's fever, and that M was the perfect nurse, but probably doesn't like being awakened to hear about the good results of her good care giving. And what a great idea to rent an ATV 4-wheeler and tool about investigating things. ADVENTURERS. Promised Pictures will be a treat.
DaD I am really happy for you. Keep having fun and blogging, cause we enjoying it.
