Mickey- So for the first time things didn't go smoothly. We chose a hotel from a guy offering us free transport and a good rate and with a very nice brochure of a hotel close to the beach. However, when we were dropped off we soon realized it wasn't even the same hotel as the brochure and not near the beach. Then after trying to use the bathroom it turns out the water isn't working either. The man that brought us there had already left and consequently the hotel didn't have a reception (?) so we went off to eat lunch and find wifi so we could use skype to call the number on the brochure. The woman who answered assured us the water wasn't working everywhere and wasn't listening when we were trying to ask why it wasn't the hotel in the brochure. Finally she agreed to meet us back at the hotel and we made up a story about my parents coming to get us in their sailboat and how we needed to leave. Although she was being difficult and asking lots of questions about "why?" we finally got my passport back and could leave scot-free. We wandered around a bit and tried a few others places close to the beach (all full) until we saw St George's (coincidentally the same place my parents stayed at last year). The people were extremely friendly and gave us a very nice room for 30 euros (thanks to Joseph) and now here we are (using the handy-dandy wifi) enjoying our complementary local wine on the balcony. :) Oh, and by the way, the water works fine here.
Joseph- first hotel bad. lady mean. new hotel gewd. happy Joseph. (what my blogging skills look when next to mickeys) anyways Mickey covered most of what has happened. our last day in Paros was rather dull. the ocean was cold and the town doesn't wake up until sundown, leaving us with nothing to do. so mickey and I sat by the pool and tanned (even though I didn't need it). at night we lost each other, and I ended up shopping while Mickey waited for me at the hotel (oops). I got punished like the bad puppy that I was, and I said sorry. s.o.s.! on the brighter side, we realized that we forgot to pay for captain bens adventure. we were supposed to pay when we checked out, but the lady must have forgot to add it to our bill! :) saved us a chunk of change, 96 euros to be exact. keep commenting we love to hear from you!
p.s. (Mickey-): And as a side note, Joseph had the key to our room (tisk.) But I had an enjoyable time sitting outside the door listening to music and reading our Greece book wondering where Joseph went (only to find out he was shopping) :)
p.p.s. (Joseph)- in my defense, I thought she was In town. I was looking for her but some items grabbed my eye (and my euros) if you don't hear back from me, send the police.

Daddy T Yeah, you gotta be aware of those guys trying to get you to their hotels... Never fully trust them and what they are selling. Nevertheless, great way to get out the situation, "my parents are picking us up in a sail boat"... Very creative. I love it!
Amanda I am so glad that you were smart enough to get out of the bad hotel. way to use your cabeza. I hope things keep on going smoothly. What is next?
Amanda p.s. I would love to see more pictures. And hopefully with shirts on :) Maybe of the island and water.
Mamma Glad u worked it out, the more tourists the more crooks u will run into trying to trick u. st George, is the old man still there? P.s hold on to your passports or lock them up in the hotel safe
