Day 139 (Tuesday 6th March 2007)
- Boring day! Just packed up what I needed to take away with me and stuck what I needed to sell on ebay! Highly interesting!
Day 140 (Wednesday 7th March 2007) - Start of Contiki tour!
After getting stuck in some horrific traffic, David dropped me off in the city to meet everyone for the start of my tour. I was glad that most other people there were travelling alone aswell, so I wasn't so much of a billy no mates!
We all meet up and went to an Opal shop, where they bored us all to death with the history of the Opal! Nick, our tour manager, then told us we had to get costumes for a fancy dress party on Fraser Island. The theme was the letter 'P'! What the hell have I got myself into!
We then spent the next few hours in the city trying to sort out a cheap costume! I managed to think of something for most other people, just couldn't get anything for me! Eventually I found a great wig and decided to go as a punk!
We had a bit of a drive to our stop for the night, a farm in Pittsworth. When we got there we had a game of cricket and a few drinks to help us along!
Nick then came screaming around the corner on a quad bike. He told me, Sonia and Tomoka to jump on the back and said that we were going to round up sheep! How the hell I stayed on I do not know! I had my drink in one hand and Nicks in the other as we went tearing over every bump he could possibly find chasing these dam sheep!
Nick spotted a baby lamb that was stuck in the fence so we went to the rescue. After alot of chasing and jumping fences he caught it. The other girls refused to hold the lamb, so I got stuck trying to control it whilst on the back of the quad bike!
We got back and Doug, the farmer, pulled out his ATV and hay trucks. We all jumped on and went for a drive around the farm. It was then back for a good old roast dinner!
Jen and John brought our table a few boxes of 'soft fruity wine'. Which went down very well, but also got everyone very drunk! After a few power cuts and some great food, we were taught some bush dances by Doug as he played on his gitar!
It was hillarious, felt a bit like country dancing at school after a few drinks! But it was also hard work and we were knackered by the time we had finished!
Once that was over we all sat around watching the sunset and having a few more drinks. It was a really good night, a great bunch of people and we all got on really well.
