Day 113 (Thursday 8th February 2007)
Marc was up at 06:00 to watch the England v Spain international friendly and despite Steve 'Personality' McClaren doing his best to get Marc's heart racing with the inclusion of Phil Neville, he was asleep after just 35-minutes.
Later that morning we went to the shopping centre to put some more photos on to disc, before Jay finally showed his face at lunchtime. After some grub we got to work on the ute's broken cigarette lighter and a five minute job took us the whole afternoon. You'll all be pleased to know that eventually we got the damn thing working...thanks boyo!!
In the evening we hit the Irish bar in Caboolture for a few drinks and Marc taught Jay a lesson on the pool table. Anywhere with air conditioning is too cold for Sarah, so we skidaddled down to 'Hungry Jacks' (that's Burger King to you and me) for a bite to eat. We took a ride up to the Glass House Mountains, before saying our final farewells to Jay, who leaves for home on Saturday.
Perhaps the thought of going home and how far we actually are from it, together with the strains of being in eachothers' pockets for over 17-weeks, led to a sudden and emotional heart-to-heart.
Sarah was feeling a bit down and Marc was deepy missing his footy. Marc talked about flying home and Sarah tried desperately to pin-point what was getting her down.
Are we sick of eachother? Is Jonesy coming home? Watch this space...
Day 114 (Friday 9th February 2007)
Marc, on a bit of a downer, phoned his folks for a bit of advise. They were shocked and disappointed..."What d'ya mean you haven't been surfing?"!!!!
He also got onto the blower to Qantas, just to make enquiries about returning home. When Sarah got out of bed councillor Wendy sat us both down and as well as banging our heads together, told us we just need some space. With that she was booking a caravan in Noosa for Sarah to get away on her own for a week.
Marc meanwhile can stay here and mind the house while the family go away to a horse show in New South Wales, as well as watch cricket and football until his heart's content. He waisted no time at all and got straight into it that afternoon with the first of the best-of-three Commonwealth Bank Series finals between Australia and England at the MCG live on the tv.
Paul Collingwood you're an absolute raving legend and the Queen should get her royal ass down to Melbourne this instant to give the man a knighthood. Another outrageous century and England, despite all their recent misery, could well be leaving Oz with a trophy afterall!!
In the evening Marc treated the family to his mum's homemade fishcakes...but they spoilt the damn things with a blatant act of blasphemy, replacing baked beans with salad...what's wrong with these people?!!
That night Sarah's parents gave a quick call...thanks for your support guys, both sets of parents. We miss you x
