Day 115 (Saturday 10th February 2007)
Marc has another cold and was suffering badly in the morning (the girls will say it's just man flu). Sarah, who doesn't leave for her caravan until tomorrow, picked him up some sudafed whilst popping down the shops.
In the afternoon Marc got himself down to watch the local cricket team, pulling out a camp chair and finding a nice spot in the shade. To Marc's surprise the standard was pretty poor and he thought maybe they needed a pom out there to show them how it's done...just like the boys last night!
As you can imagine, things were a bit tense round here, so no sooner had Marc returned with the ute, did Sarah hop in and disappear. She decided to drive up to the airport to wave Jay off...good job Marc's not the jealous type!
She later returned looking like some sorta' drowned rat after an almighty storm hit Brisbane. Sarah dried off and Wendy dished up lasagne for tea, oh and a cute little chicken nuggets and chips for the fussmeister...arrrr!
Day 116 (Sunday 11th February 2007)
Sarah packed up her stuff and with the i-pod on shuffle, headed off on her own for Noosa (follow her story with the 'Tales From The Caravan' updates coming soon).
Marc was free to watch as much footy and cricket as he wanted...so he did! He pulled out a 'crowny' from the fridge (thanks Seanie), reclined the sofa, kicked back and watched: Reading v Aston Villa (go on Sidwell the Arsenal boy), Newcastle v Liverpool (get in there you Magpies), Pompey v Man City (Kaaaaaaaaaaaaanu) and last but not least, for the rest of the day, the second final of the Commonwealth Bank Series between us and Australia.
Get in there England!! Freddie, Colly, Plunky and all the boys were absolutely awesome and Marc danced around the living room in celebration! The cocky Aussie b******s said we wouldn't need a third match and yep, they were right! At last something to shout about and a trophy to take home. Bring on the World Cup!
On the rare occasions Marc did leave the armchair that day, he booked himself a flight to Adelaide for Wednesday morning. He's decided that while we're having our little 'restbite' he can spend a bit of time with his cousin, attend her and Danny Boy's huge engagement party on Saturday, finally meet his other cousin Josh for the first time, spend some time with his good old Uncle Ian while he's down from Perth and most importantly, have some real good times with the happy-go-lucky, fun-loving character that is Keith Jones!!!
Meabwhile...
Tales From The Caravan (Sarah's life as a hillbilly)
Right, I can promise that these are going to be short and sweet, just like me! And you will also be pleased to hear that there will, under no circumstances be any references to football, cricket or any other such rubbish! Wahoo!!
Well, I set off for Noosa with my directions written out next to me, as we all know how good I am at getting lost! I decided to totally ignore what I had written down and god knows how I did it but somehow I managed to stumble across the caravan park in Noosa. I checked into my gippovan and once I had eventualy managed to get away from the owners, who had spent half an hour telling me that their granddaughters, friends, cousins, dog groomer had once been to Portsmouth, I unloaded the Ute.
The caravan was pretty much as you would expect, a van that gippos use as a house. It was quite a nice park, a very nice swimming pool, just a lot of drongos running about! I went and stocked up on chocolate and other healthy meals before heading off to bed early. Oooh, what a party animal!
