wini:
Woke up at 7am, took line 1 for 4 stops, I was so happy that the train's seats were all in rainbow. Check the photos for proof.
We stopped at Cafe de Louvre for yummy omelette around the Louvre. The breakfast was huge, and we both agreed from now on we needed to share meals. The line already started even we were 1 hour early before it opened. It was chilly around 10c in the open area with little bit of wind. John joked about my nickname "space heater" was not warm enough for his hands. Grateful that my body template was back to normal.
Louvre was huge and we were only able to see the Renaissance era artworks. We walked the Denon section (1st floor) only and saw three major art pieces— Mona Lisa, Victory, Psyche and Cupid. It was so early so we were able to see the arts very closely without the crowd. Even John told me before Mona Lisa is tiny, but still bigger than he told me. I knew the reason why Mona Lisa famous because you able to see her eye face to you in all 180 degree. So I did the move in front of the painting in sideway from left to the right. It worked! One dream fulfilled. There is a tourist family wanted us to take photo for them, and took our photo afterward. You would able to see how small Mona Lisa was, and it was about A4 size.
Then there was a lot of religious painting, gratefully John able to explain many bible symbolism and stories for the paintings. E.g John the Baptists' head on the silver plates or painting of David always was in aged form.
Overwhelm with Renaissance style, it only took us the whole morning.
We planned to cancel the Amsterdam trip this weekend, and back to Louvre for the whole weekend. I planned to go to Marais and couple more shopping area when I am alone next week. Shopping time for family (never too late to prepare for xmas gifts!) :)
