For once, John blogs again! Wini has been doing this single-handedly, so I had to come back and pull my weight a bit.
Today we did one of the awesome things that you can only do in Europe -- we took a train to another country for the day. Specifically we went from Paris to London to meet David (that's Coobe Paine to all you Second Lifers out there). Despite some issues around me misreading the tickets and missing the traine we should have been on it all went smoothly. London is pretty much what you think from watching BBC America -- or at least Camden Town, the crazy area that is Upper Haight on a bender, is.
We had the fish and chips. Meh. But the best cappucino I have had in any country, ever! David and Wini laughed at how I could not get over the smell, the taste ... well, it was muy bueno mes amis. A perfect setting for David and I to geek out about all things software while Wini went in and out of shops that went on forever with a look of childlike enchantment.
She bought a kick ass, only in the U.K. jacket and dress by the way.
I know it sounds simple, but the day was perfect. Hanging with friends, shopping for Wini, and pleasant train rides. This is what I like when traveling. Don't get me wrong -- the Louvre and the like actually make me feel like a better person -- but other people is what makes life good.
