Massive surprise - I've actually managed to update this thing within TWO days of my last one. That's quite an achievement for me.

This day was pretty boring I must admit. In fact, it was only yesterday and I can't even remember what I did! Did drama most of the day and then, in the afternoon, the guy who runs Tutors Worldwide (the organisation that I did this whole Gap year thing through) came by to check how we were getting along and stuff so we had a couple of interviews with him. In the evening, I went to Victoria House (the girls' boarding house I'm associated with) and walked around checking on the girls during Prep (homework time) and chatting to them and getting to know them a bit. They're all SUCH nice girls and had lots of good laughs and fun with them. Stayed back there for a couple of hours to watch TV with them which was also really nice!

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!!! Today was another average day just working (helped out the yr 9 drama class a lot which was lots of fun as they had to do improvised scenes and was soooo funny especially with one of the boys doing an impersonation of a neurotic bride!!). All the staff were a bit on edge today cos it was "Inspection Day" which is basically a day every 4 or so years when the school gets its full inspection done. Coached netball again this afternoon. It has gotten SOOOO cold again!! But no snow again (yet!).
Anyway, in terms of AUSTRALIA DAYYYY we did absolutely nothing which is so sad!! But we're going out to the local pub tonight with some teachers to celebrate it :) In honour of this glorious day, here's a list of the aussie things I am missing most:
- SAUSAGE SANDWICHES!!! my gosh the sausages here (at least, at the school) are soooo bad and i miss my good aussie sausage sandwiches!
- thongs : they're just so convenient
- the sun. enough said
- the wamrth. again, enough said
- the beach: im craving a swim in salt water and nice breaking waves on a sunny, warm day at a beach with aussie sand!
- all my aussie friends and family :)
- vegemite! however, one of the teachers gave us some today which was very kind. apparently, you can buy it at a big shop about 20mins away!
- garlic prawns
- BBQs in general
- playing netball, especially when it's not freezing cold!
anyway, I hope you all had a fun-filled Australia day!!
Miss you all lots
xxxxxxxx
PS: I think I forgot to mention - Amy and I have booked tickets to go into London on Friday! YAY! We're leaving Thursday evening and getting back Saturday morning and don't really have a plan as to what we'll do but that's ok :) Oh and I booked a Paddywagon Tour of Ireland for my half-term break in February! woo!
