Today was mine and Amy’s first day off. Such a relief! We slept in til late and then Sophie came and met us around midday to take us sledging over at the castle!! I’m really glad we went sledging cos I was getting a bit homesick this morning so it was good to take my mind off it! So yeah, sledging was great fun. It was so cold today though. Even the mere had frozen over and there were people walking on it!!! (but there’s no way we’re going to do that cos it's definitely not frozen in every spot!!). Sophie brought her friend’s sledge which is actually like a traditional real sledge! So cute. The sledging was sooooo much fun. It was so slippery everywhere though so we slipped over heaps and struggled to climb up some of the smallest hills! It provided many laughs. I bumped into Kate and Nick and the kids (and their dog Oscar) there as well which was really nice!! We then had bank appointments and opened our accounts at Barclays (during which I had to jog back to the flat to get my ID and almost got caught in a complete whiteout!! I’m starting to get over the snow…) This evening, Kate and Emily (her daughter) picked me up and I went back to their house for dinner. It’s so cute and English and it was soooo nice to be in a place with people that I know (or at least, people that know my parents!) with a family and cooked meal and a fireplace!! We ate and sat around playing games and chatting until about midnight when Nick (Kate’s husband) got home and dropped me back at the flat. Kate gave me two pillows to borrow which was really nice of her and I had the best sleep ever!!
