7th - 9th September - 2010 Pushkar
Left Jaipur this morning for Pushka, the city with the holy lake which as 500 temples and Ghandis ashes were scattered. There is a special temple here were millions of Hindus pilgrimage too, there walk 100's miles, insane. deepak did not dissapoint, we had eiffel 65 and the scatman in the car!
Its really nice here, alot less hassle than everywhere else so we have finally done some shopping, it's so cheap here. Met some nice people and we all had dinner together and swapped horror stories from dehli, one couple got asked to smuggle drugs back to Europe, we all got 'scammed' in the same way in Dehli, theya re all working together, the tuk tuk drivers, people in the train staion etc! So puska makes a nice change.
We visited Brahma temple here and made our offerings and visited the holy lake and 'worshipped' there, I had to do this chant but couldn't understand what I was supposed to be saying so kind of made it up, who knows what wishes I made.
This morning we got up at 5am and climbed to a temple on top of a mountain, took us three hours and was a right mission, we were all gutted when the cafe at the top was shut! The temple was ok but the views of pushka we worth it. If that wasn't enough we did a 2hr yoga class this evening, he get going on about god and how to worship him through yoga, none of us had the heart to say we don't believe in any god.
Off to Jodhpur tomorrow.

Anna Brilliant Jess! What amazing experiences you're having. xxx
Work Dad Hello Jess, sounds like you're getting used to India now. A little tip if you have to do any more 'chanting'. Just try to remember as many items as you can from the menu at cafe Indiya and reel them off! You must be all worshipped out by now but if you don't keep washing your hands you'll be calling out to God soon enough. Work is great by the way!
HOME DAD & WORKING MUM Hi Jess. Had to google eiffel 65 dont sound like Bollywood music to us, must have picked it up at a tuk tuk boot sale. Dont worry about making up the words to Indian religious chants,I do it all the time at funerals. 5 am seems a bit early for getting up to us, mind you thats when you are normally coming home from a NHS payday party. keep safe and find a hotel with Skype so we can see our favourite daughter. xxxxxx
