Moved hostels this morning to a 10 bed dorm so when our friends arrive later we will all be in one room which should be a laugh. Visited the Vietnam war museum this morning, went there on a cyclo which is a big seat with a bike on the back. the war museum was really interesting, graphic effects of the chemical agents the americans used, lots of photos and stories about americans and the vietnamese fighting in the was. Was pretty upsetting, with this and cambodia we have had a heavy few days.
Went out for cocktails and wine with Ami and Nicola to reflect on the day. Our friends arrived from penompenh and joined us. We are all getting ill as we are all exhausted from travelling every other day.
Mike james and I met up with 2 friends from laos who happened to be in the city. the backpacker trail is so small you bump into people you know all the time.
16/11/10 Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam)
Visited the Cucchi tunnels today. They are the massive network of underground tunners the vietnamese lived and fought in during the war. They are so small and there were so many traps they showed us to catch the americans which eneded in them having slow painful deaths. They let us crawl through them which was really cool, but claustraphobic and pitch black. After that I shot an M16 rifle which was fun, really loud though, you would never get to do these things in the UK!

real mum and dad enjoyed your blog jess. Lee is going clay pigeon shooting on the farm at xmas pity you cant join him now your a good shot. It is cold here with snow. Sounds like the tunnels were a great experience, were they as narrow as the shopping aisles at Sainsburys (scary). hope all is well will speak on Christmas day.xxx
work mum Hi Jess, your experience in the tunnels will stand you in good stead if you ever need an MRI! We are knee deep in snow here and all fed up of it! Loki bear is fed up of having cold paws (cant find any canine booties on the internet!). Hope you can relax a little bit soon, it sounds exhausting! And hope you have a great christmas wherever you are. Lots of love from workmum
Auntie Vivvy Jess, Have a lovely Christmas, will miss you loads Love you lots
work auntie You shot an M16! Good grief, no messing with you when you get back!
Work Dad Hi Jess. Happy New Year. I haven't been on for a while, sorry been a bit busy. Obviously not as busy as you. I think you need to slow down and start pacing yourself a bit. After all there's only a few months left until you'll be back with us at work! Hope you had a cool yule etc. I'm impressed that you fired an M16 but for a moment I thought you'd gone across to MI6! Harry wouldn't be impressed. I can't compete with the M16 but I did shoot up the M5 last week and had a really good New Year. Keep safe. WD.
