41 degrees Celsius and we're traipsing around Rome trying to find a launderette. The one google told us didn't exist and it was actually a restaurant. We asked at a cafe and they told us another location in Campo Del Fiori. About a 10 minute walk from where we were. We set off, feeling like our current clothes needed a wash too in the extreme heat. Disappointment struck when we realized they had directed us to a laundromat, not a self service. Running out of time to wash our clothes before catching our flight we grabbed a taxi to another location I had written down, supposed to be in a not very nice part of town, but we were desperate. €10 later we finally found the launderette and it was great! Washed and dried in an hour! Plenty of time to get to the airport.
We had another crazy taxi driver who got us there in under 20 mins. What is it with drivers in Europe?? Checked in, apparently my bag weighs more than when we were in china, although we haven't bought anything....
Italy don't seem to have border control as we didn't have our passports stamped on the way in our the way out. Oh well, a bit disappointing.
Waiting for our flight to Poland and an Italian lady doing a survey for tourism came up and wanted us to take part in a survey, apparently we aren't very nice people because we politely declined her request. We were tired, minding our own business, sick of being harassed by people asking us for stuff.
On the flight to Warsaw we were treated like royalty! A sandwich, Chris got two beers and we also were given chocolate! I like LOT airlines :)
However the plane was mighty small and landing was not the most pleasant experience. Only a few more planes to go!
Our hotel was only 2 mins walk from the airport and once checked in, we had some downtime to watch American national geographic channel. Nice to have English tv and a few good documentaries.
The motel we stayed at gave us bottled water, a few have, so you can brush your teeth without having to use the tap. Unfortunately Polish bottled water is terrible! Very salty or something. I had the first sip to wash the toothpaste from my mouth and gagged. I made Chris try it too just in case I was wrong.... You should have seen his expression! Haha
Off to bed, for tomorrow we figure out the Polish train system!
