Reluctant to leave the cushy bed, we went downstairs for breakfast. A massive spread! Cereals, breads, hot food and fruit. As well as a personal chef to cook you eggs and omelets .
Finished with breakfast we went back upstairs to pack. The hotel organized a taxi to take us to the train station.
Once at the train station, we had major trouble buying tickets, I had thought the ticket would be $40 but it was a shock when the lady told us over $200. Afterwards we realized we had forgotten about the currency conversion. Whoops! No wonder the lady at the counter got cranky with us when we didn't get why it was so much.
We had an hour to wait for our train direct to Krakow and in this time we got to learn just how crazy their system is. I don't know if they're allowed but people cross the tracks!! And it wasn't just one person, it was many! They just walk to the end of the platform and then cross over 2-4 train tacks to get back to the road. Crazy, dangerous stuff.
On the train we went to our reserved seats, and they were filled with other people, trying to get them to move we finally conceeded and sat in other spare seats. Behind us were an older Australian couple who had gotten on the wrong train, 2.5hr express to krakow in what sounded the wrong direction to where they needed to be. 5hrs to return to where they wanted. It was nice to hear a familiar accent though.
Finding our hotel was relatively easy, it's so close to the station and very nice. We managed to book two tours for tomorrow, one to the salt mine and the other to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe listening to old classics. We found a supermarket and solved the terrible water issue, it was carbonated at the other hotel! Now we know the difference.
Back in our hotel, catching up on emails and writing to you guys back home. Time soon for a movie and early to bed. Another early start tomorrow.
Night! Xx
