The caravan was towed to the NRMA depot and put in storage and the truck left at Nissan until it has been repaired.
We have a hire car and checked into our motel room. So happy to watch some tv and have a shower whenever we want to!
Drove to the small farm called 'Eltham Pantry' and had a beautiful ploughmans lunch surrounded by pecan trees.
Afterwards were taken on a tour of the farm which currently has 300 pecan trees and is a one man operation.
To harvest, they use a tree shaker (tractor that shakes the tree and the pecans fall down).
When the pecan falls it has a hard shell and when cracked open there are two pecan halves inside, which is then put through a grader, cleaner, then packaged and sold or used in the cafe.
The pecans retail around $20 per kilo and are a relative of the walnut.
On the farm were also a couple of coffee plants and we were shown the basics of coffee plant harvesting.
We then spent the rest of the evening drinking wine in our room and watching Austar!
Highlight today: Visiting the pecan/coffee farm.
