So we arrived in Koh Tao after having spent the night on a sleeper train.....which was an experience! It was like any normal train then about an hour in the seats were transferred into beds!! We were on the upper beds so it was a bit if a mission getting up into it....but they turned out to be pretty cosy and quite a good nights sleep. Our stop was Chumphorn where we would catch the ferry from to Koh Tao....it was hard work waking Matt up at 5.00 in the morning though......a good poke in the face did the trick :) we were told our coach to take us to the port would pick us up at 6, so a long hour wait! When 6 finally came round it was light and everyone else seemed to be getting on a nice double decker air con bus.....we were told our bus had already left!!!! however the kind man took us to where the bus was so we could get on it.....though this bus had no air con or comfy seats! Just benches on either side and a wooden plank down the middle which we ended up sitting on.....we felt like we'd aged about 50 years after getting off it! The ferry had to be better.....surely?! White plastic seats with a dwarfs leg room...no cushioned seats in sight! After 2 and a half hours of trying every position possible to get comfortable we finally arrived in Koh Tao!! Any longer then I think Jen would have puked!
We dumped our bags in our wooden hut and made it for the sea...which was our view for the next 3 days! Sitting on the beach seemed like heaven!....hunger struck so we made our move to get some food....this is when the burning started! Only an hour in the sun and red was the colour of us!! ....no sleep to be had that night!
The next day Matt moaned and groaned about his sunburn.....inside was the place for us that day...only to come out at night when we Skyped home for the first time :)
We managed to venture out on our last full day.... we took a stroll round to the next bay and chilled out on some massive rocks by the sea. Not a lot to be done in Koh Tao apart from sit by the sea so that is what we did that night too.....only this time with an ice cold beer!
Morning came and that was our time in Koh Tao done....onto Koh Phangan.....
