We arrived in bangkok after what seemed an everlasting plane trip....we were both pretty knackered and couldn't wait to off load our luggage at our hostel.....we tackled the bustling sky train and after a short walk in humid heat we reached our hostel which was our digs for the next three nights!! Our room was delightfully very nice which I think was needed to allow the foreign adjustment that little easier.....we had an awesome shower...a beer....some food....and watched the football...it was like home from home!!....day 1...after what seemed a restless night sleep....(where I think it beckoned on us the massive challenge we had just started and how long it was going to take!)...we got up early to see what Bangkok had to offer.....making the most of the closeness of the sky train we hopped on to find some sights....after nearly getting lost wondering down some dodgy roads trying to find the national stadium and grand palace we decided to stick to the sky train stops and checked out Siam paragon..... This was a rich persons paradise with all the top branded shops glaring you in the face!....prada....gucci....we made note of the food court which was much more in our price range.....a pound for a curry and rice meal!....can't go too far wrong unless ur not a fan of strange items you can barley recognize floating around....yeah...not Jens cup of tea!....mcdonalds trusty chicken nuggets sorted that out!.....easing Jen in slowly was the key!........that evening and one tasty Thai curry later Jen was about accustomed as she needed to be!.....day 2 and we was up early...(well early for me.... 7)....sorted our kanchaburi trip for a reasonable price also opting to be sensible and do the grand palace by tour!......an afternoon trip to see some impressive colourful pimped out palaces gave us our first glimpse of their patriotism and reglious culture....this was topped off by seeing a couple of chiiled out monks stroll through the street like they didn't have a care in world!....where do I sign up?....that evening we headed back to the food court for some cheap food...and yes jen did smash off 2 platefulls of Thailands finest....we came across a gourmet food store so decided to stock up on snackages for our trip the next day!....a 5.30am wakeup loomed so an early night was on the cards....
