G'day G'day,
So we survived the farm - well just about.... we are not kidding when we say we now know the meaning of hard work. In our first week we were working 16 hour days.... can you imagine??? Jen and I after 5 months of being lazy ass bums!! To say it was a total shock to the system is the under statement of the year. Somehow we got through it and ended up having the best 7 weeks ever... it was brilliant. We both cried when we had to leave on Thursday....We met some terrific people and caught up with a few of them over the weekend in Sydney.
We left the farm on the thursday and caught the 'Firefly' (nice 12 hour jobbie) to Sydney from Melbournes Southern Cross Station. We were both shattered so a 12 hour journey came in pretty handy as it meant we could sleep. We booked into The Pink House in Kings Cross, which was great and caught up with a fellow Farm Girl - Fiona!!
Prior to heading off to the farm I had booked myself onto the Bridge Climb experience... yep that seemed like a good idea at the time!! Not so good after working the last 7 weeks and not having days off..
Anyhow, the day came around pretty quickly for me to do my climb. I was quite nervous as I was doing it on my own. Jen and Fiona didn't feel the love for the climb at all. They did offer to be my spectating posse so that was cool, they set up camp at The Harbour View pub and so could watch from the balcony.... armed with ice cold coronas.
Before you are allowed to take part in The Bridge Climb, you have to be breathalised.. so I mde sure no alcohol passed my lips the night before.. I did not want to risk missing my climb, or face the embarassment of being ushered out of the building by the staff for being drunk!
