so this is pretty out of date and late!! But we wanted to complete the blog...
We were in Cairns for about two weeks or maybe just under... it was our next stop in Oz (and our last) after Tatura and that notorious Tomato Farm!! We were very happy to be being reunited with Gemma and Valerie who we met on The Great Ocean Rd day trip... and who gave us the no for the farm. We have them to thank for that wonderful experience.
Whilst in Cairns our main aim was to visit The Great Barrier Reef and also take some time out to see Cape Tribulation.. We managed to do both these things and it was brilliant.. sadly I didn't get to try diving which I had looked forward to. I am asthmatic and they do not permit you to dive..which is a big shame. I did try snorkelling when at The Great Barrier Reef..but the weather was so so bad that it was virtually impossible. It was still amazing to go and although the wetaher was rubbish we still had a fun day.
Our weekend at Cape Trib was brilliant, we got picked up on Friday and stayed till Sunday. So we had a couple of days out at the rainforest and it was so nice to just chill out and enjoy the amazing scenery!! We did start the trip off disasterly and board the wrong bus with our roomie Usher!! It was highly embarassing especially when I tried to argue with the driver that I was booked onto his trip...SHAME!!!!
My highlight of the wekend at Cape Trib was Jen and I rocking out to 'The Proclaimers' 500 miles with all the other guests... awesome!!
When we weren't exploring Jen and I were probably the laziest people at our hostel 'Inn The Tropics' we were basically on wind down form the farm so being able to sit and chill or swim in the pool was great....oh and shop alot!!!! Our excuse was that all our clothese were pretty much ruined from the farm hee hee hee...
Inn The Tropics was a wicked hostel to stay at and we had a lot of laughs there and very little sleep. We also had some drunken nights at the woolshed..... my first night in cairns was a blur!!
