Ive been inspired to take a few notes today from the long stretch of sunny weather all of a sudden. I was here for a week and all I saw was rain and grey gloomy clouds. Having to retype this for taking too long to post and being automaticall logged out in the process doesnt really help though.
My jobs here are many: Im a painter for the entry hall, Im a barrista (mostly for my self) and Im a doer of whateverelse needs doing in this old wooden Norwegian house.
Ive helped cater for two events, one was for alcohol, the other for lunch. Its lovely helping in the art cafe, a great way to meet the local village folk - even though most of the time its closed.
Last night we all met around a campfire under the starry sky. I love it how these people make the most of everything. But I suppose one would have to - theyve had three days of summer this year, and three last year with rain inbetween. They say about Norway here that there is only three seasons: Winter's Been, Winter's Coming and Winter's Here.
I made the most of it also. I took a long walk the other sunny day up the mountian at the back of this house. It became more interesting when I discovered a narrow winding path that lead off the road to the summit 9or there abouts), to a clearing with three houses all with trees and grass growing on the roof, beside what was now a rushing torrent of water pouring down the mountin. My lunch this day was of cranberries and blueberries with a little spring water to wash them down.
Im currently designing a mural for the entry hall wall, and tomorrow dad is coming to visit for 2 days.
