Today is a relaxing day at the Tuscan villa just lounging by the pool having a few relaxing drinks & swimming with the boys....it's hot outside actually we have been blessed with the weather the whole holiday it has been hot everyday..... It's so nice to have some down time as the days are long as we try to fit as much into our day that we can...we are so excited tonight as we have a Italian chef coming in tonight to prepare us an Italian feast....
They are prompt they arrive at 4.30 pm Lido & Antonelle ( they are a lovely couple however not married , but they have worked together for many years) they start by giving Jeni & myself an apron as they put all the fresh produce in the fridge & we are given a vase of flowers from Lido,s garden as are all the fresh vegetables. We start by making creme caramel with crushed biscuits in the top then once in the oven we start to make dough for the pasta , there is something about watching n Italian make this from scratch they make it look so easy ....we join in & help
Him make the fillings for the ravaolli & fettuccini whilst Antonelle prepares all the Veges, the aromas in our Tuscan kitchen are indescribable, totally amazing....he also starts cooking his Own chicken stock & also makes chicken cattcatore... We are so excited... We set the formal dining setting for 8 people the wine comes out & we look like we are dining in style ... It's a wonderful experience to have this great opportunity to learn in this beautiful environment about cooking like the Italians.... There is so much food & I mean too much, this night has been so memorable meeting these wonderful people whom have made us feel excited about this eating experience..we cannot even finish all the food so we have leftovers for tomorrow nights dinner which is always a bonus... We are all full as ever & tired so it's off to bed we go... What a night. Totally awesome.....
