We arrived safely home today after driving another 526 miles. It's Saturday and if we would have taken the original route we would have been home yesterday. Things never truly go as planned, there are delays and unexpected issues that come up and you have to be flexible. It's especially important to be flexible and plan buffer days on a trip like this.
The new route added almost 200 miles to our route, but at least it was not a route unfamiliar to us. We have driven that route several times to Oshkosh in the RV and also it was our route back from the west in 2009.
I feel very blessed we were able to go on this 5K + mile adventure and God protected us the whole way.
I clearly saw God's fingerprints and power in the places we visited, He is the ultimate artist and sculptor and I was in awe of the beauty around us. Not sure how many times I can say that something is awesome and still be believable.
My favorite place was Zion - majestic and colorful and so much fun in The Narrows.
Grand Canyon was immense, Lake Powell breathtaking and Antelope Canyon awesome.
Arizona takes the trophy for the worst roads to drive on this trip, extremely bumpy on highway 40 and narrow state and county roads (no shoulder).
Utah takes my trophy for the prettiest state.
Until the next adventure
