Soo, this is an extremely old blog entry which I just remembered about...So I will leave it as it was and post it before my newest blog entry!

Not much has happened recently, except at weekends.
Not last saturday but the one before, I was invited to a wedding reception (by a guy I met here) and I was quite nervous about going because the only people I knew were him and 3 of his friends that I had previously met. What made it even worse was when I got there everryyonne was speaking afrikaans and I had no idea what was going on! All of the speeches were also in afrikaans and his friends found it funny to make fun of how awkward I looked through the whole thing haha. I also got made fun of everytime someone spoke to me in afrikaans because I didn't know what to say and looked really confused, not too fun. But everyone tried to speak to me in english as much as possible (because they can speak both afrikaans and english) and I even had someone translate some of the lyrics of afrikaans songs for me (although he was kind of drunk haha) So overall it was a good night and at least an interesting way to spend the weekend.
Then the Saturday that just passed was another eventful one. Me and one of the other volunteers that I made friends with decided to go to Cape Town for some shopping, mainly in Green Market Square. It was all good and we were having a good time until it we ran out of money. We then hunted down an ATM and everything went wrong! I put my card into the machine and it wasn't working properly so a man comes over and "helps" me but turns out he was just a pickpocket and decided he would steal my credit card! but as soon as I realised he took it, I started freaking out haha so a staff member of the bank came out and the guy had to give me it back which was lucky. I was so freaked out after that though...I was shaking and completely freakng out so we decided to go to wimpy for some chocolate-y waffles because of course chocolate solves all problems!
After that little incident we decide it is best not to stick around the area so go back to our car to start the journey towards Simon's Town for our next stop, Boulders Beach. This was very exciting because Boulders Beach is famous for having a penguin colony on it! So we make our way there, passing many beautiful views such as other beaches which unfortunately we didn't have time to stop at on the way home. So after a while we finally get there and people probably thought I was crazy as I was so excited haha. There was like a mini market outside the carpark filled with even more tempting little items but I restrained myself (which was hard as there were some reallyy cute cuddly penguin toys for sale!!) and we headed down to see the penguins. Although there weren't as many going about as I had hoped and there were no baby penguins there was a fair amount and they were so cute and so close to us that I again could not contain my excitement. I have plenty photos as proof too! But it seems even penguins can't fix shock because once we got back home I started feeling really sick and had to stay in even though there was a halloween thing on, but I still had a good time as we went to the shops bought a bunch of fruit for a fruit salad and chocolate and popcorn and watched movies. Over the weekend and all this week I have been ill with headaches, a cold and a throat infection, which sucks and I had to go to the doctors about it too. Which turned into a big hassle, I had to pay R420 just to see the doctor after over an hours wait and then had to wait even longer to get all the reciepts and a statement so that I can claim the money back with medical insurance. Then I had to go to the pharmacy and payed R105 for all these stupid tablets I have to take...4 different kinds and leads to a total of around 12 or 13 tablets a day! So not much good has happened recently as I have been sleeping a lot due to being ill. Work has been same old boring night shift where I don't have to do much but at least I have had some side jobs which makes it better. Although I haven't done it much yet, Toy Library is really good. The girl I have to work with is really cute and always gets really excited when I come to do toy library. The chickens are still crazy but at least they can't escape anymore so no more running around like an idiot because of them!

It also seems the photo part is still not working so I will need to use a default photo instead....rather annoying!
