Could not sleep so went for my walk at 0245. Almost full moon so conditions beautiful. Back at 0430 and suitably tired to go back to bed. Gayle did not hear go or return.
After the visit from the Ranger yesterday we did not feel altogether comfortable, and despite the assurances of our new friends that we should stay, we decided to wander on.
Told them however not to be surprised if we came back.
Departed 0900 and an hour later arrived at Nambucca Heads. Quite different to what we expected. Bigger and hilly to the waters edge but with a narrow flat fringe around the river banks.
No free camping in this area so decided to bite the bullet and book into the waterfront caravan park for a week.
Want to retard our southward progression into the cold, hanging around this area makes sense to us.
Chose a nice site (with TV reception) and settled in. While Gayle tuned the TV, I went for a bike ride to suss out the lie of the land.
Next an hour or so of fossiking which added immensely to my sinker collection but more importantly "BLING".
The ring is not gold but possibly silver and whilst the stone may be glass, it certainly sparkles like something a little more valuable.
Next to the breakwater for an hours fishing late afternoon. No luck but did have a "follow" from something quite big.
Today's photo shows my bike at the end of the breakwater looking out to sea. Around the corner to the left (north) of the rocks are miles and miles of beaches. BLING territory.
