We had an early arrival into the greyhound bus station in downtown Los Angeles - we had read reviews that this part of town was a little dodgy. So we had already agreed to get a taxi from here to the Hostel located just off Hollywood Blvd. it was about a 15 minute journey to the hostel and we arrived about 6:30 in the morning, the hostel isn't even managed until seven. So we just sat outside in the smoking area. (Getting eaten alive by bugs). The hostel was in an amazing location and opposite the Hollywood Roosevelt.
Both of us were pretty tired, you never really sleep on the night buses. Then the best thing happened the reception guy gave us a free upgrade to an en suite private room and we could have it straight away!! Result. It was nice to have a sleep and rest. Our room was in the basemen, it the beds were a little like camp beds but it was perfect for one night before the girls arrived. We even got the free wifi code when we should have paid for it!
We both crashed out for a few hours and I felt so much better after the sleep. We went and got food and walked along hollywood blvd. It was so nice and hot, just what we needed!
We decided we would walk to a local park it wasn't far, and we just hoped there would be a place to lay down and enjoy the sun. We found Runyon canyon park, before we knew it we were walking along the path up the hollywood hills, with fantastic views and even views of the ocean. I was sweating so bad, and it might not have been a great idea to have worn flip flops. People were running around he track and walking a lot of dogs. We walked for over an hour. I ended up having blisters on my feet, because i didn't have suitable footwear on. Headed back for a shower and then went out for dinner. Hooters wings were good with a beer just what I needed after the long walk! Outside on hollywood blvd they were filming for a movie that is being realised in January. It's a new gangster movie! I can't remember the film title. Even though it was dark now it was still really nice weather wise, still warm walking around in tee shirts during the evening. Me and Chris decided we would go to the Grauman's Chinese theatre. The famous one that holds a lot of film premiers and has all the celebrities hand and foot prints. The film we picked was Sinister. It was actually scary, and I hate jumpy scary films. Just lucky I don't get nightmares. We both watched the film through our finger tips. Time for bed - tomorrow the girls arrive!
