Not sure why, maybe something to do with the time difference, but Bex was up at the crack of dawn. It wasn't long before we were all awake. The hotel does free breakfasts, so before showering we headed down there for something to eat. It was cereal and toast and stuff. The weather looked like another hot one, and it must have been about 30 degrees. We all decided we would hit the beach, Santa Monica was so nice yesterday we decided to return. It takes about 40 minutes, would be a lot quicker if we didn't get stopped by every bloody traffic light- also I'm really not that sure about the turning right on red rule!
The beach wasn't very busy, it's Sunday and they had a food market going on, so we took a short walk around, grabbed some refreshments! Abi had fresh orange juice. I'm not sure what Bex was thinking, but she went for the carrot juice.
It was disgusting, and it was warm, Bex pretended to like it for a while and then poured it away in a bush! Yuk. I wouldn't recommend it- even if you think your trying to be healthy - not sure what it would do to your guys either.!!
Time to lay on the beach, it was a really nice day, I went for a paddle at one point, but the water is freezing! I decided against going in, only a couple of people in the water that I could see. We spent a few hours in the sun before walking up to the Santa Monica pier for some late lunch. We found a Bubba Shrimp and decided to have lunch here. We all decided to have a shrimp combo dinner thing except Abi that had shrimp and fish balls! Lol. It was nice but SHRIMP OVERLOAD! I am not a massive fan of sea food, you got loads of shrimp. Some were headless but you had to remove the rest of the body, I hate doing all of that. After all being full after dinner we still had a pudding we did share them, but I felt so sick after. It was time to head back to the hotel, as we have a fun night planned at Universal Studios Hollywood!
TIME FOR CHRIS, BEX & ABI TO BRICK THEIR PANTS!!!! I have done halloween fright nights before so I know what to expect! I'm going to be mister macho tonight!
We took the metro to universal studios, it was only 1 stop, except we went in the wrong direction at first and had to go back the other way. It was dark as we arrived and we got the free Universal bus from the metro to the park entrance. You could see all the halloween decorations from the entrance. We cleared security and the had to go through the turnstiles. I heard the faint hum of the chain saws in the distance! I know not to react. I passed this information on to the others. If people come towards you "Don't react - look them in the eyes!" They are being paid to scare us'
At Universal Studios Hollywood, the main entrance was the start of the first scare zone, this is an area in the park that is full of scary people this one was "waking the dead" zombies and police officers and clowns walked around with chain saws. They can't hurt you, and the worst thing about it is the notice, they always go for your feet or behind your head so the chain saw sounds like its right next to your ears. You run scared - they run after you.
Chris, Bex and Abi all looked terrified. I took lead and started to walk the scare zone. The zombies of course went for the girls - (sorry Abi - but this is my blog!) Abi was petrified and hid behind Chris and then Bex, the zombies didn't give up and wouldn't leave her alone. Bless abi. She got so upset and wouldn't go any further - we had been in the park less than 2 minutes. Abi went back to the hotel after some tears. The Universal Studios Horror nights had claimed their first victim! Lol. The 3 of us continued. Bex clinging on to me and Chris, it only took about 3 minutes and we had cleared the scare zone!
Everyone took a breath of relief. Lol - we headed straight to the "Waking the Dead" back lot tram scare ride.
We had all started to get a little scared by now, including me, the queue was an hour long- we though it would be a tram ride around some scare zones. When we had to leave the tram we all started to brick it. You walk around some of the old sets with zombies. They made me jump a couple of times Bex linked with Chris most of the way around! Ha ha! We all survived but were relieved that the scare ride was done. Next stop - the Mummy & Transformers rides! These were just rides, no monsters.
It was time to be scared again! We walked around the other scare zones, which included clowns, toys and witches! There was a massive bloke dressed up in a tutu, dancing around in the toy zone! I was scared by the rabbit with a chain saw.
Also I was taking some pictures and Chris and Bex were standing behind me and didn't warn me that one of the characters was right behind me and hung something over into my face, making me crap my self duck and run away!!
The Bill and Ted show was really good, it was set on the Hunger Games, and it was really funny - Bex even managed to get some sleep! Not sure how as it was so loud. It was about midnight and we didn't have a lot of time left, all feeling really tired we had a hot dog to keep us going, it was gross! However we all ate it.
Our last scare zone was the Alice Cooper 3D scare maze. I was up front and Bex behind me, and Chris was behind her. I know I was going to jump a little bit the first thing scared Bex and she squeezed the air out of me!! Hugging my back! Lol. We continued to walk the maze it was actually really good being 3D.
Then the funniest thing, Chris got spooked and before we knew it he was next to me pushing Bex out the way! He said they were all getting him at the back! Lol. I couldn't stop laughing! And nearly pissed myself on more than once. It was really late now. The attractions had started to close so we left via the scare zone at the entrance of the park, there must have been about 30 clowns running around with chain saws. Bex wouldn't walk until they stopped - you should have seen Bex run! We got the free transport to the metro to find it has been closed! Rubbish. After a little wait we managed to flag down a cab. We got back to the room about 2am. Waking Abi up, we told her about all the funny things. If she had just stuck it out 2 more minutes we would have been out the scare zone.
